According to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR):

  • About 30–35% of crop loss gets wasted due to a pest attack in India.
  • The term pests include animals (mainly insects), fungi, plants, bacteria, and viruses.
  • Among such pests, nematodes (microscopic worms) have been recently observed as a primary threat to all Kharif, and rabi crops in the country which causes 60 million tonnes of crop loss per year.

In order to maintain our food security and prevent crop loss, most of our Indian farmers usually opt for chemical pesticides, but they are totally unaware when (time, season) they should apply, how much they should apply, and what kind of pesticides are suitable for a particular crop.

We, at Satyukt Analytics, have recently launched our Android application called “Sat2Farm” where farmers can easily upload their farms on the app by walking along the farm boundary.

Once the farm is added to our database, we shall provide all the crop advisories including crop growth monitoring information (such as Normalized difference vegetation index, enhanced vegetation index), soil moisture (SM), weather information (rainfall data), and pest control advisories. We are providing such information based on multi-temporal satellite data, crop history, soil type, agronomic practices, and many more well-researched factors.

Currently, there are 40 crop variants in our database, and we are offering pest advisory and disease management for many crops like sugarcane, mustard, soybean, pomegranate, wheat, and tomatoes.

We also send the notification of early warning messages of a specific crop area for pest and disease outbreak monitoring. So, this android app helps the farms in maintaining their farms.
